Christian Bible proves God is violent, unjust, and cruel

I was born a Catholic and converted to at least six major religious organizations until I became secular. I prayed more than a thousand times but none of it was ever heard by the imaginary God.

The bible is a book of war, contradictions, cruelty, absurdity, and other boring stuffs.

Some religious leaders like Iglesia Ni Cristo would say that the bible is not for everyone; therefore not everyone can explain and understand the book.

Other groups would say the same as well, but let me explain why the bible is a book created by some primitive dumb people.

The Old Testament especially the book of Genesis is full of violence and things not in accordance with today’s human moral standard.

There are also some verses that the imaginary god lied.

Let’s take a look at few of the hundred verses where God order killing, injustice, cruelty, and violence. The phrase “God is Love” does not apply here.

"Every living substance that I have made will I destroy."
God tells his intention to kill "every living substance, from off the face of the earth." But why does God kill all the innocent animals? What had they done to deserve his wrath? It seems God never gets his fill of tormenting animals. The ones who made mistakes were Adam and Eve but why God wanted to kill animals? Gen. 7:4

"All flesh died that moved upon the earth." God drowns everything that breathes air. From newborn babies to koala bears -- all creatures great and small, the Lord God drowned them all. God was happy and satisfied after doing such horrendous act. Gen. 7:21-23

The angel tells Hagar to return and submit to her abusive owner, Sarai. Gen.16:8-9. No wonder why some domestic helpers are beaten by their employers. God set a perfect example.

God orders Abraham to kill Isaac as a burnt offering. Abraham shows his love for God by his willingness to murder his son. But finally, just before Isaac's throat is slit, God provides a goat to kill instead. God is playing like a child. Gen 22:2-13

Abraham shows his willingness to kill his son for God. Only an evil God would ask a father to do that; only a bad father would be willing to do it. What a terrible attitude by God. Gen. 22:10

God blessed Abraham by giving him lots of slaves. God really likes slavery. Gen.24:35

God brought a seven year, "very grievous" famine on the whole earth for no apparent reason (except maybe to make Joseph wealthy). Gen.41:54

God deliberately make people disabled for no apparent reason. Exo.4:11

God decides to kill Moses because his son had not yet been circumcised. Exo.4:24-26

God wants to be remembered forever for the mass murder of little children. Exo.10:2

These verses clearly show that the mass murder of innocent children by God was premeditated. (see Exo.12:29-30) Exo.11:4-6

God is racist. He will kill the Egyptian children to show that he puts "a difference between the Egyptians and Israel." Exo.11:7

God encourages the Israelites to steal from the Egyptians. Exo.12:35-36

When the people complain to Moses, he tells them they aren't complaining about him, but about God, making them apostates and heretics, and therefore deserve severe punishment. Religious leaders have used this tactic ever since. Exo.16:8

Joshua, with God's approval, kills the Amalekites "with the edge of the sword." Exo.17:13
Slavery is approved by God, and those who steal slaves must be killed. Exo.21:16

God promised to bring Jacob safely back from Egypt (Gen.46:3-4), but God doesn't keep his promise and Jacob dies in Egypt. Gen.49:27

Cruelty in Basic Christian Teachings

Instances of cruel and unjust behavior by the biblical God are seen in the most basic Christian doctrines. Some of God’s acts that harmed the innocent are as follows.

He damned the whole human race and cursed the entire creation because of the acts of two people (Genesis 3:16-23; Romans 5:18); he drowned pregnant women and innocent children and animals at the time of the Flood (Genesis 7:20-23); he tormented the Egyptians and their animals with hail and disease because pharaoh refused to let the Israelites leave Egypt (Exodus 9:8-11,25); and he killed Egyptian babies at the time of the Passover (Exodus 12:29-30).

After the Exodus he ordered the Israelites to exterminate the men, women, and children of seven nations and steal their land (Deuteronomy 7:1-2); he killed King David’s baby because of David’s adultery with Bathsheba (II Samuel 12:13-18); he required the torture and murder of his own son (e.g., Romans 3:24-25); and he promised to send non-Christians to eternal torture (e.g., Revelation 21:8).

More Slaughters Ordered by the Lord

Besides the unfairness and heartlessness contained in many well-known Christian teachings, the Bible has other violent tales that are opposed to civilized standards of morality. Among the most shocking Bible passages are those that portray God as ordering or approving the extermination of various people, including children and the elderly. Here are examples:

At I Samuel 15:3, the prophet Samuel gives King Saul this commandment from the Lord: "Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass."

Ezekiel 9:4-7 has this harrowing account: "And the Lord said unto him, Go through . . . the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark. . . ."

Hosea 13:16 describes a punishment from the Lord: "Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up."

Deuteronomy 32:23-25 says that after the Israelites incited God's jealousy by worshipping other gods, he vowed: "I will spend mine arrows upon them. . . . The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs."

In Numbers chapter 31, the Lord approves of these instructions that Moses gave to the Israelite soldiers about how to treat certain women and children captured in war: "Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves."

Isaiah 13:9,15-18 contains this message from God: "Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger. . . . Every one that is found shall be thrust through. . . . Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes . . . and their wives ravished. Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them. . . . [T]hey shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes will not spare children."

These verses expose the biblical God as having the morals of a sociopathic mass murderer.

Examples of God’s Other Cruel Methods

The God of the Bible displayed his sadistic tendencies by employing a variety of other means to torment and kill people.

He caused the earth to open and swallow entire families (Numbers 16:37-32); he used fire to devour people (e.g., Leviticus 10:1-2; Numbers 11:1-2); and he punished the Israelites with wars, famines, and pestilences (e.g., Ezekiel 5:11-17).

He sent wild animals such as bears (II Kings 2:23-24), lions (II Kings 17:24-25), and serpents (Numbers 21:6) to attack people; he sanctioned slavery (e.g., Leviticus 25:44-46); he ordered religious persecution (e.g., Deuteronomy 13:12-16); and he caused cannibalism (Jeremiah 19:9).

The whole Bible consists of more than a thousand verses where God orders unjust killings and mass murdering. This act of biblical God is against human standards. Humans are apparently created by God so how come humans are more righteous than God?
